DIGITAL MAPPING OF EXISTING SACCOs/FPOs

The project intends to build project beneficiaries/ farmers’ capacity for aggregation of agricultural produce and enhance collective marketing participation through Farmer Producer organizations and improved access to affordable credit and financial support through Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCO).

The project beneficiaries will be mobilized to join FPOs through CIG/VMGs for long-term market linkages for both input and produce markets. Support will be provided for long term sustainable formal financing to FPOs, SMEs and other value chain stakeholders to catalyze opportunities for job creation, and inclusion of women and small-scale producers. FPOs will be strengthened through deliberate efforts/production programing to increase production of selected value chains to meet market demands and requirements for quality standards, volumes, regular and timely supply.

On mobilization of SACCOs, the project will support a saturation approach in mobilization of CIGs/VMGs, agripreneurs value chain actors and establishment and identification of well performing existing neutral value chain SACCOs in all participating counties wards.
