Food Systems Resilience Project is a Government of Kenya project funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (State Department of Crop Development).

The Project Development Objective (PDO) is “to increase preparedness against food insecurity and improve the resilience of food systems in targeted project areas of Kenya”.

In order to realize this objective, project activities will be implemented through five components namely ;-

  1. (Re-) Building Resilient Agricultural Production Capacity;
  2. Supporting the Sustainable Development of Natural Resources for Resilient Agricultural Landscapes;
  3. Regional and domestic markets for food security;
  4. Promoting a Greater Focus on Food Systems Resilience in National and Regional Policy making;
  5. Contingency Emergency Response
  6. Project Coordination and Management.

The project will be implemented in all wards (265) of the thirteen (13) counties : Baringo, Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, West Pokot, Laikipia, Isiolo, Turkana, Samburu, and Elgeyo-Marakwet.

This Grievance Mechanism (GM) is in place to address all grievances, compliments concerning the FSRP in Project implementation. GM aims to enhance citizens'/beneficiaries' ownership and participation in the project, and serves as important feedback and learning mechanism that can help improve the project outcomes. The GM will be reviewed from time to time as indicated in the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP). Currently, there are 3 levels of GM and Reporting:

The complaints will be logged into the Grievance Management register, acknowledged within specified timeframe, reviewed and response provided/remedial measures taken, monitored and reported.
