Unveilling Agriprenuers in Garissa County by PS Agriculture, Governor Garissa and NPC FSRP
FSRP objective under Subcomponent 1.1: Data and Digital Agriculture Systems at the National and County Levels and Subcomponent will be implementing the agriprenuer model. The model represents a transformative Agripreneur (AP) approach where individuals, particularly youth, are trained and developed into agricultural entrepreneurs. These agripreneurs become conduits for innovative agricultural technologies, inputs, and market linkages, thereby being pivotal in modernizing agriculture. They operate as independent business entities, offering services and products to farmers for a fee or other forms of remuneration, making the model sustainable and scalable. The emphasis is on creating a viable business model where agripreneurs disseminate knowledge and facilitate access to critical agricultural inputs and markets.
The agripreneur model will be strategically deployed in all project wards with established community institutions. A total of 1,925 agripreneurs will be on-boarded across 975 wards. This AP approach aims to strengthen the program’s impact, promote agricultural growth, improve extension services, and promote economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
