Project Objective

The Project Development Objective (PDO) is “to increase preparedness against food insecurity and improve the resilience of food systems in targeted project areas of Kenya”. In order to realize this objective, project activities will be implemented through five components namely 

  1. (Re-) Building Resilient Agricultural Production Capacity;
  2. Supporting the Sustainable Development of Natural Resources for Resilient Agricultural Landscapes;
  3. Regional and domestic markets for food security;
  4. Promoting a Greater Focus on Food Systems Resilience in National and Regional Policy making;
  5. Contingency Emergency Response
  6. Project Coordination and Management.
